On November 26-27, the robotics festival – “RoboSib”-2015 – will be held in Irkutsk for the third time. According to the organizers, more than 600 people from different cities across Russia are expected to take part in the festival. Until November 13, robot builders can submit an application to participate.
Participants aged 6 to 30 will compete in eight types of competitions. This year, more than 5,000 people will attend the event – representatives of businesses interested in attracting talented young people, scientists, engineers, and many others who are passionate about robotics.
As of October 19, 50 teams from Khakassia, the Irkutsk and Krasnoyarsk regions have already registered, the project organizers said.
On the eve of the festival, the coordinators will announce several creative contests, the winners of which will receive valuable prizes. Detailed information can be found in the festival’s official accounts on VKontakte and Instagram.
The “RoboSib” festival is the regional stage of the competition, whose winners will go to the All-Russian festival in the capital of Russia.
The festival is held by En+ Group and the Oleg Deripaska Foundation “Volnoye Delo” as part of the nationwide program “Robotics: Engineering and Technical Personnel for Innovative Russia”.
In 2014, nearly 500 people from 30 cities in Siberia took part in the robotics festival, and the total number of guests was about 5,000 people. The winners in the FLL category were the Lego Monsters team from Lyceum No. 102 in Zheleznogorsk (which also won a grant for a trip to “Robofest-2015”). FTC diplomas for first place were awarded to two teams – T.REX (School No. 80 in Irkutsk) and SIBERIAN BEAST (Irkutsk Energy College). They were also awarded grants for a trip to Moscow. The festival’s special prize – a trip to the FTC competition in Holland – was awarded to the T.REX team from Irkutsk School No. 80.
