In Irkutsk next year half a million rubles will be allocated to fight illegal advertising, notices and airbrushing on municipal property. Authorities also plan to work out a ban on ads on building windows, and deputies propose stricter control and penalties for violators. Airbrushing will be handled selectively, artistic works will be kept, while meaningless inscriptions and drawings will be removed.

There will also be work on banning the placement of advertisements on building windows
Next year, half a million rubles is allocated for the removal of illegally placed advertisements, notices, and airbrushing on municipal infrastructure facilities in Irkutsk. The Urban Planning Policy Committee plans to work out a ban on placing advertisements on building windows.
This issue was brought up for discussion at a deputy hearing at the initiative of Deputy Alexey Savelyev.
"All bus stops, fences, and poles in Irkutsk are plastered with all kinds of notices, the streets are cluttered with illegal advertising structures, banners, and streamers. I believe that measures against those who distribute advertising in such volumes need to be tightened, and control over the placement of advertising structures needs to be strengthened," Savelyev clarified.
However, caution is needed with airbrushing, Alexey Savelyev emphasized. Some objects can even be regarded as art and should be preserved. But other drawings and inscriptions that have no meaning or artistic value must be removed.
By October 2015, a total of 1.1 thousand advertising structures and 1.4 thousand square meters of leaflets and notices had been dismantled.
