In the Angara region, the rules for taking the Unified State Exam are changing, retakes within the year will become paid, and the February and September exam dates will be canceled. The region will also expand online video monitoring at exam sites and introduce a new work scanning technology, and graduates are already preparing for the final essay on December 2. The article also gives the results of the 2015 exam, noting higher average scores in most subjects and fewer graduates who did not receive a diploma.
In the Angara region, repeated retakes (the third and subsequent attempts are counted; the first attempt and a retake on a reserve day are not counted) of the Unified State Exam will be held throughout the year at quality assessment centers, but a state fee will have to be paid for this service, and its amount will be determined by Rosobrnadzor in the near future.According to the regional Ministry of Education press service, citing Minister Valentina Peregudova, one of the important changes in the procedure for administering the Unified State Exam was the elimination of the February and September exam dates. As before, graduates of educational institutions will be able to take the Unified State Exam only in May and June.
As Valentina Peregudova clarified, next year the share of classrooms at exam centers (PPE) equipped with online video surveillance will be increased to 80%; 20 million rubles have been allocated in the regional budget for these purposes. Also, a new technology for scanning exam materials at PPE on the day of the exams will be used, which does not require a secure communication channel, and encrypted scanned forms can be sent to the regional information processing center over open communication channels.
The final essay, which is a condition for admission to the Unified State Exam, will be written by graduates on December 2, 2015. The main themes for this school year have already been identified: “Time,” “Home,” “Love,” “Path,” “Year of Literature.” The specific essay topics will be announced to students 15 minutes before the exam begins.
The average Unified State Exam score in the Angara region has increased in most subjects. In 2015, the Unified State Exam was taken in 14 subjects. There has been some decline in average scores in three subjects — mathematics (for the first time, the exam was taken at both basic and advanced levels — not all students were able to orient themselves), social studies, and geography.
As a reminder, 70 graduates (out of 12,500) in the Irkutsk Region did not receive a secondary school certificate in 2015. The students were unable to score the minimum number of points in the compulsory subjects (Russian language and mathematics). In 2014, there were 144 such graduates. Those who “failed” the compulsory Unified State Exam will take the exams only in 2016.
