Additional contractors have been brought in to clean city streets

In Irkutsk, additional contractors were brought in to clear streets of snow, 7 companies have already deployed dump trucks, loaders and other equipment. Mayor Dmitry Berdnikov sharply criticized municipal services and management companies, demanding faster clearing of the city, yards and roofs of snow and ice. Based on this situation, the authorities promise to draw conclusions regarding responsible managers.

In Irkutsk, additional contractor organizations have been brought in to clear the streets of snow. This was reported by Deputy Mayor and Chairman of the Committee for Urban Development Yevgeny Drokov at a meeting on the work of utility services during the winter period, which was held on November 6 under the chairmanship of the city mayor.
The city mayor, Dmitry Berdnikov, drew attention to the ineffective actions of the management of the municipal utility enterprise, as well as the relevant departments of the administration, in eliminating the consequences of the recent snowfall.
- It is obvious that MUP “Irkutskavtodor” was unable to cope with this situation on its own. It took you several days to understand this. During such heavy snowfalls, assistance from contractor organizations is necessary. And now it is necessary to clear the city of snow and be ready for the next snowfall, Dmitry Berdnikov noted.
As Yevgeny Drokov reported, 7 contracted organizations have already gone out onto the streets of Irkutsk today. They have provided the municipality with 38 dump trucks for snow removal and 12 loaders for clearing roads and sidewalks. By the end of the day, 5 more contractors will begin clearing city roads. In addition, 230 workers and 85 units of cleaning equipment from the municipal enterprise continue to clear the city streets of snow.
At the meeting, the city head also addressed management organizations with instructions to carry out prompt and high-quality snow removal in courtyards.
- This situation showed how unprepared management organizations are for winter. On the first day of the snowfall, only in some courtyards did janitors go to work. Courtyard areas and stairways are still not fully cleared. The issue must be resolved by the end of the day. And I ask you to pay special attention to roofs - weather conditions are such now that there is a danger of snow sliding off. You must inspect and remove all hazardous ice formations on roofs, the city head emphasized.
The mayor noted that, based on the results of the current work, conclusions will be drawn regarding the officials organizing snow removal in the city.
