On December 3, the Oktyabrsky District Court of Irkutsk extended by 6 months the period of detention for Yulia Kiseleva, the person responsible in the case of the deaths of two people. The criminal case will be heard starting December 10, a representative of the Oktyabrsky Court said. The court decided to extend Kiseleva’s detention until May 25, 2016. The defense requested that the preventive measure be changed from detention to house arrest. However, the motion was rejected by the court. Yulia Kiseleva personally attended the court hearing for the first time, while behind bars.
"The court also set the start of the hearings for December 10. The accused and her defense asked for the case to be considered in a special procedure. The court sees no need for this; the case will be heard under the general procedure," the court added.
