Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov and Chief of the General Staff of Russia Nikolai Makarov will arrive in Irkutsk in January to discuss the relocation of IVVAIU
Governor of the Irkutsk Region Igor Esipovsky said this today. According to him, for the regional authorities the situation with the military school is now one of the main problems. The head of the region said that he met in Moscow with the Chief of the General Staff of Russia Nikolai Makarov and the Presidential Plenipotentiary in the Siberian Federal District Anatoly Kvashnin. It was decided that before a final decision is made on IVVAIU, the leadership of the country's Defense Ministry will personally visit the educational institution and familiarize itself on site with the situation at the school:
- It seems to me that we will be able to convince the country's leadership and the leadership of the Defense Ministry that our school should continue to function. Of course, like all institutions of this kind, it has a large number of problems. No matter, little by little we will solve them. We will help at the regional level. We will think about how to help the school to put it a little in order, improve living conditions. There are options for how to do this.
