In Irkutsk, poems and stories by fathers dedicated to their children are being collected. You can send your work until January 12. The best works will be included in the unusual book Poems and Stories of Dads, which will be published in February 2016 in 500 copies and distributed not only to the authors, but also to libraries and national cultural centers of the Angara region. The project aims to show how important the active role of fathers is in raising children, and will unite texts, drawings and family photos in one unique book.
A collection of poems and stories by fathers dedicated to their little ones is being compiled. Anyone who wishes can submit their work until January 12.The extraordinary book “Poems and Stories of Dads” will be published in February 2016 in a print run of 500 copies, the organizers of the family-creative project said.
200 copies will be sent to the authors, and the remaining copies will be distributed to libraries and national cultural centers of the Angara region.
- The goal of our project is to promote fathers’ active involvement in raising their child. Fathers should take a more active role in raising children and help preserve family traditions and values. After all, the modern young dad is used to leaving for work early in the morning and coming back late. Young fathers rarely play with their children and mostly serve as a porter, driver, and anyone else, but not as an educator, - says the project organizer Alexander Otkidach.
Active dads inspired by the idea can compose a fairy tale or a poem for their child.
- Each poem or fairy tale will be accompanied by a drawing by the dad and his son or daughter for this work, and at the top there will be space for a shared photo, the first and last name of the dad and his children. According to our idea, dads of all nationalities living in the Irkutsk region should be in this unique book. So that from childhood we can foster respect and interest in dads with other interesting surnames, interesting fairy tales, and mysterious plots, - emphasized the project organizer Pavel Morozov.
Reference: the “Dads” movement was born in Irkutsk in 2015. It was founded by seven young fathers from Irkutsk.
The project implies the creative, athletic, and intellectual growth of fathers together with their little ones, as well as the creation of venues in the city for this growth.
The book “Poems and Stories of Dads” is the first of eight projects planned for 2016-2017.
