In one of Irkutsk supermarkets, prosecutors found serious violations in the sale of food. Meat products had no labeling or expiration dates, and some goods were stored improperly. Over 200 kg of products, mostly meat, were destroyed, and responsible officials were held administratively and disciplinarily liable.

In one of the city supermarkets, the Oktyabrsky District Prosecutor’s Office of Irkutsk revealed violations of legislation on the quality and safety of food products. As a result, more than 200 kg of products, mostly meat products, were destroyed.
As part of an inspection conducted together with specialists from Rospotrebnadzor and Rosselkhoznadzor, violations of the requirements of current legislation on the quality and safety of food products were found at one of the supermarket chain’s retail outlets, which specializes in the sale of meat products and meat semi-finished products.
The absence of labeling, information about the manufacturer, the production date, and the shelf life of all chilled meat products offered for sale was recorded (minced beef, minced pork, minced horse meat, beef goulash, pork goulash, pork shashlik, bone-in cutlets, lamb neck, etc.), sold in the supermarket, with a total weight of more than 140 kg.
No documents confirming the quality, safety, and origin of 19 kg of frozen meat and fish could be found. This product was disposed of.
Also destroyed were 7 kg of culinary products (chicken drumsticks, chicken roll, pies, hamburgers) due to violations of storage conditions.
In addition, the sale of dairy products (sour cream, cottage cheese, and curd products), packaged and repackaged by supermarket employees into plastic containers, with a total weight of about 30 kg, was identified.
As a result of the inspection, the supervisory authorities took measures to bring the guilty officials of the supermarket to administrative responsibility under Part 1 of Article 10.8 and Article 14.43 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.
The district prosecutor’s office issued an order to eliminate the violations identified and addressed it to the head of the legal entity operating the supermarket under inspection; following its consideration, the violations were eliminated, and the guilty officials were subjected to disciplinary action.
