A 43 year old man transferred 40 thousand rubles for a snowmobile, but never received it, and two pensioners lost 10 thousand rubles each when they gave criminals bank card details and SMS codes. Criminal cases have been opened in all cases.
Internet scammers continue to deceive trusting people. A 43-year-old man from Irkutsk fell into their trap after deciding to buy a snowmobile online.- By phone, he agreed with the seller to transfer 40 thousand rubles as an advance payment, - the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Irkutsk Region reports. - Having not received the promised goods, the man tried to contact the seller again, but the latter had already turned off the phone.
Over the course of a day, four people were deceived in the Irkutsk Region. Two more women from Ust-Ilimsk and Slyudyanka posted an ad on one of the websites of the World Wide Web for the sale of a garage and furniture. After that, unknown people contacted them and asked them to provide their bank card details and the code sent in an SMS message for the transfer of an advance payment. As a result, 10 thousand rubles were debited from each pensioner's account.
Criminal cases have been opened on all the fraud incidents.
