In Irkutsk at 7 Chernyshevsky Street, an illegally built apartment building erected on the site of a private house was demolished. The four story 1400 sq m building was ruled an unauthorized structure by the court due to fire safety violations, lack of design documents and state construction supervision. The report also says how residents secured an inspection and that the developer has another similar project, whose construction has already been banned by the court.
Today on Chernyshevsky Street, 7, an apartment building illegally constructed on the site of individual housing was demolished. This was reported by the Committee for Municipal Property Management of the city of Irkutsk. The four-story building with a basement, with a total area of 1,400 m2, was declared illegal by a court decision. Demolition of the house began at the end of November 2015. As of today, the land plot has been completely cleared.
As a reminder, the high-rise building was erected in gross violation of fire safety requirements, and there was no design documentation. No state construction supervision was carried out during the construction of the building.Illegal construction was identified two years ago as a result of complaints from residents of nearby houses. After the Irkutsk Municipal Property Management Committee carried out claim-and-lawsuit work, in early 2014 the Sverdlovsky District Court of the city of Irkutsk issued a decision to demolish the illegally built house.
On November 18 of this year, representatives of the developer filed a motion to suspend the demolition, but the court left the decision unchanged. According to the Committee for Municipal Property Management, in addition to the demolished building, the developer is constructing a similar facility at 17 Dostoevsky Street, for which a court decision has also been issued prohibiting construction.
