In Irkutsk, a 24 year old Honda Accord driver crashed into a concrete pole beyond the Irkutny Bridge on the way to Zhilkino. He was speeding and lost control on the slippery road. He later died in hospital, and two passengers were hospitalized with injuries. An investigation is underway.
On the night of January 9 to 10, beyond the Irkutny Bridge in the direction of the Zhilkino microdistrict, a 24-year-old Irkutsk resident driving a Honda Accord crashed into a concrete pole. Emergency services that arrived at the scene found a mangled passenger car with a shattered windshield and blood on the hood.According to preliminary information, the motorist was speeding through the city at night and at some point lost control on the slippery road.
“The driver of the foreign-made car died in the hospital a few hours later from the injuries sustained. Two passengers who were also in the car at the time of the accident were hospitalized with various injuries,” the press service of the Main Directorate of the Russian Interior Ministry for the Irkutsk Region reported.
An investigation is being conducted into this incident, and a legal decision will be made as a result.
