The court proceedings in the high-profile case against Kiseleva are not yet over. The lawyers of Yulia Kiseleva, who was convicted in the fatal traffic accident, are demanding a postponement of her sentence. As a reminder, on January 14 the Oktyabrsky District Court handed down a sentence to the daughter of an Irkutsk City Duma deputy — 3.5 years of imprisonment to be served in a settlement colony.Kiseleva’s defense does not agree with this sentence. Even during the court debates, they asked for a suspended sentence or a postponement for their client. Now, in their appeal submission, they have again asked for a postponement to be applied to the culprit of the fatal crash, since she has a 3-year-old daughter.
The wives of the men who died also disagree with the verdict. Immediately after reviewing the documents, they filed an appeal, demanding a much harsher punishment.
