On February 8, the Irkutsk zoo gallery will reopen after the fire, for now in technical mode while restoration work continues. This week, the mini zoo will be free to visit and donations for animal feed can be left. After the January fire, which preliminary data say may have been caused by a short circuit, the gallery suffered serious damage, and some exotic animals died.
On February 8, the Irkutsk Zoo Gallery will once again open its doors after the fire. As the owner of the mini-zoo, Lyudmila Ivushkina, said, the zoo gallery will open on Tuesday, but for now - in a "technical" mode, as work is still continuing in the premises to restore them after the fire. This week, Irkutsk residents can visit the mini-zoo without a ticket and make a donation to the collection box for animal feed.
As a reminder, the zoo gallery, located on the grounds of the former Central Park of Culture and Recreation, caught fire on the night of Sunday, January 17. The cause of the fire may have been a short circuit. The building was damaged over an area of 50 square meters: the interior finish and the floor slab between the first and second floors burned. The blaze was extinguished quickly. But the damage to the gallery is significant - many exotic animals were injured, and some of the animals suffocated and died.
