In Irkutsk, the My History contest began, dedicated to the citys 355th anniversary and aimed at young people and local historians. Participants are invited to tell the history of their street, house, or family, adding photos or a presentation. The final will be on May 20, and results will be announced in early summer.

The Alliance Club of Young Scientists, the A. M. Sibiryakov Irkutsk City History Museum, and the Faculty of History of ISU announce the launch of the “My History” contest for young people and local historians, dedicated to the 355th anniversary of the regional center. To participate, it is necessary to submit a written work, supplemented if possible with photos or a presentation.
— This contest is intended to spark young people’s interest in studying the history of Irkutsk through the history of everyday life (the history of streets, houses, and families), — noted the Alliance Club in a statement.
The contest results will be determined in the following categories:
“The History of My Street” — a story about the history of the street where the contest participants live;
“The History of My House” — the participant must tell the story of the house in which they live or in which their relatives (parents, grandparents) live;
“The Irkutsk History of My Family.”
The contest final is scheduled for May 20 of this year, and the results will be announced in early summer. Entries are accepted at: Irkutsk, 16A Frank-Kamenetsky St., or by email at: konkursirk@mail.ru. For inquiries, call 71-04-25.
