In Irkutsk, a girl transferred 3 thousand rubles for the treatment of a friend’s mother, after which it turned out that her friend’s account had been hacked. The money went to a number registered in Chuvashia, and a criminal case has already been opened for fraud. Police urge residents to be more careful and not transfer money without verifying the request is genuine.

On February 7, a resident of Irkutsk reported that three thousand rubles had been stolen from her.
A message from her acquaintance came to the girl on a social network. In it, her friend asked her to transfer money for her mother’s treatment. The Irkutsk woman responded to the cry for help and transferred the money to the phone number specified in the message.
As it later turned out, the account of the person she was talking to had been hacked, and the phone number to which the three thousand rubles were transferred was registered in the Republic of Chuvashia.
As reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Irkutsk Region, a criminal case has been opened under the article “Fraud.”
The police urge citizens not to fall for scammers’ tricks.
