The Oktyabrsky District Court of Irkutsk has handed down a sentence to the former accountant-cashier of OJSC “International Airport Irkutsk.” The 49-year-old woman was found guilty of fraud and embezzlement of another’s property on an especially large scale.The convicted woman worked as an accountant at the airport for more than 20 years. While performing cashier duties, the woman enjoyed the trust of management and was constantly rewarded for exemplary work.
In 2014, it was recorded that, beginning in February 2011, the Irkutsk woman systematically forged accounting documents and stole money from the company’s cash desk. In total, the woman embezzled more than 3 million rubles.
The court sentenced the defendant to 5 years and 6 months of suspended imprisonment with a probation period of 4 years. She must also compensate OJSC “International Airport Irkutsk” for the damage caused in the amount of 3 million 278 thousand rubles.
