In Irkutsk police detained four suspects in the robbery of a woman who had 1.5 million rubles taken from her in the yard of her house, money she had earlier withdrawn from a bank. According to the Interior Ministry, two bank employees were among those detained, and one suspect had previously been convicted of drug trafficking. A criminal case has been opened and could lead to up to 12 years in prison.
As reported on the website of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Irkutsk Region, bank employees are suspected of involvement in a robbery of 1.5 million rubles.On the afternoon of February 9, two masked men robbed a 35-year-old woman from Irkutsk in the courtyard of one of the buildings on Omulevsky Street in Irkutsk. They took 1.5 million rubles from her, which she had previously withdrawn from a bank. Police officers detained four suspects, two of whom are bank employees. Three of them have been placed in custody, and one is under house arrest. One of the suspects has a prior conviction for drug trafficking.
On this fact, a criminal case has been opened on the grounds of an offense under Part 3 of Article 161 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (robbery committed on an especially large scale). The sanction of this article provides for imprisonment for up to 12 years.
