In the regional center, free Russian on Fridays courses start on February 19 as part of preparation for Total Dictation. Participants can review spelling and punctuation rules on Fridays for two months, get advice from philology teachers, and improve their literacy. The Total Dictation event will take place on April 16, and you can sign up for classes in advance by phone.

How can you write the Total Dictation well? Starting February 19, the regional center will begin offering free “Russian on Fridays” courses. They will be held as part of the international “Total Dictation” campaign.
Russian language lectures will subsequently take place every Friday for two months at the following address: Chkalova, 2. Start time is 6:30 p.m. The classes will be taught by candidates and doctors of philological sciences, as well as university instructors.
Anyone interested will be able to receive advice from the university’s leading philology professors, review the rules of spelling and punctuation, and also improve their literacy.
Advance registration for the courses is available by phone: 8 964 101 22 11. You must bring an identity document with you.
As a reminder, the campaign will take place on April 16, for the sixth time already. The goal of the project is to give everyone the opportunity to test their knowledge of the Russian language and to spark interest in improving literacy. In 2015, 2,000 residents of Irkutsk took part in the campaign. 115 of them received an “excellent” grade.
