In the Irkutsk region, a family gang that killed pensioners was sentenced, organizer Sergei Vysotsky got life imprisonment, and his relatives accomplices got 10 to 19 years in prison. The investigation found they committed a series of brutal murders of elderly people, and the case files took 15 volumes and required more than ten expert examinations.

The organizer of the gang of pensioner killers received a life sentence in a special-regime penal colony, while his accomplices, who were also his relatives, will serve from 10 to 19 years in a general-regime colony, the press service of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Irkutsk Region reported.
The court sentenced Sergei Vysotsky to life imprisonment. His common-law wife Elena Luzina was given 19 years in a penal colony, her mother Olga – 15 years, and her grandmother Evdokiya Goryachkina – 10.
“Investigators from the Investigative Committee of Russia handling especially important cases, the most experienced police officers, and forensic experts worked on solving the series of murders. The criminal case materials comprise 15 volumes. During the investigation, more than 10 different examinations were conducted,” the statement says.
As a reminder, the brutal massacre was carried out by the gang on March 5, 2015. The helpless elderly Vologzhin couple was stabbed to death in their own apartment. Their screams were heard by neighbors, but they still did not dare to intervene. They did, however, call the police. But by the time officers with flashing lights were approaching the veterans’ building, the criminals were already jumping out of the window with the stolen money. The bloodthirsty family valued the veterans’ lives at 375,000 rubles — exactly the amount they stole. The cynicism of this crime shocked the entire city.
The criminals managed to escape, but were detained four days later. That was when the shocking details emerged: the killers of the lonely elderly were a family gang, and on their record was not one crime, but an entire series of murders.
