From March 1 in Irkutsk, the charity drive Do a good deed will begin, organized by librarians and members of the city Public Chamber. Its goal is to collect materials for educational and creative activities for students of boarding school No. 20 with severe illnesses. Cardboard, modeling clay, paints, paper, brushes, pencils and other needed items can be brought to any municipal library, where collection points will be open. The drive will last until May 25, and on June 1 the children will receive gifts for Childrens Day.

From March 1, the charitable campaign “Sowing Kindness” will begin in the regional center. The organizers are librarians from the “Centralized Library System” and members of the Public Chamber of Irkutsk.
The purpose of this event is to collect materials for developmental and creative activities for the children of Boarding School No. 20, who suffer from severe illnesses (cerebral palsy, the aftereffects of poliomyelitis).
For the activities, cardboard, modeling clay, gouache, drawing albums, white and colored paper, pens, watercolor paints, brushes, crayons, glue, plain and colored pencils, markers, tape, craft kits, and more are needed. Stationery can be brought to any municipal library of the “Centralized Library System,” where special collection points will be organized.
The campaign will run until May 25 of this year, and on June 1, International Children’s Day, the coordinators will hold a celebration at which they will present the children with gifts from caring residents of Irkutsk.
