However, their plan failed when customers entered the store, forcing the criminals to flee. Police quickly detained the suspects, one of whom had a pneumatic pistol used in the crime. They now face criminal charges, and the investigation is checking their connection to other crimes.
In Irkutsk, two men suddenly burst into a retail pavilion on Ryabikova Boulevard. Pointing a gun at the store employee, the criminals demanded all the cash from the register. At that moment, the entrance door creaked, and customers walked in. This startled the offenders.- The robbers hurried to flee the scene of the crime, - noted the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Irkutsk Region. – However, their faces were captured by internal and external surveillance cameras. Based on the video footage, police officers created a description and began searching for the criminals.
They managed to find and detain the suspects two days later, on February 29. In the home of one of them, operatives discovered a pneumatic pistol, which apparently was the weapon used in the crime. It also became known that both suspects had previously faced the court multiple times.
Now a criminal case has been opened against the offenders. The police will need to determine whether they are involved in other thefts and robberies.
