The Irkutsk District Court found a pensioner guilty of organizing a contract killing of her son-in-law.As a reminder, in July, unknown persons reported to the organized crime unit of the police department that a contract killing was being prepared. It later became known that the 68-year-old woman had tried to reach, through her acquaintances, a person willing to kill her son-in-law for 100,000 rubles. A police officer, posing as a hitman, met with the woman and learned the details of the planned crime.
According to some reports, the elderly woman handed the “hitman” a photo of the victim and a single-barrel hammer-fired smoothbore shotgun.
A couple of days later, the hired killer met with the client and showed her a photograph in which the son-in-law had been made up to look like a corpse. The woman handed the “hitman” the reward, after which she was detained by police officers. Charges were brought against her.
The court sentenced the defendant to 5 years in a general-regime penal colony with one year of restricted freedom.
