In the Irkutsk region, authorities plan to change employment services to cut bureaucracy and speed up job searches for citizens who seek help. Sergey Sokol said the current rules are too complex and waste people's time and nerves. The region is already preparing proposals to revise the rules, and federal agencies backed the initiative, which could be expanded nationwide.

At the end of last week, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Irkutsk Region Sergei Sokol visited the Irkutsk Employment Center and noted that the mechanism of the employment services needs adjustment. In particular, he was dissatisfied with the bureaucratization of the process. “A person who has come here should, in a short time and with greater efficiency, find a job,” Sergei Sokol said.
According to the press service of the governor and the government of the Irkutsk Region, the number of registered unemployed in the Angara region as of February 1 is about 27.6 thousand people. Of these, half applied to employment centers, 3.7 thousand have been employed, and 5.7 thousand have been recognized as unemployed; these citizens will receive benefits.
The Government of the Irkutsk Region, on the governor’s instructions, is developing a set of measures to assist the able-bodied population. At present, the employment services operate under a strict regulation developed in Moscow and involving a number of repetitive operations that take people’s time and nerves. This makes it difficult to obtain information in a timely and high-quality manner. The regional government is developing proposals to adjust the regulation.
The federal service and the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation have already supported the recommendations of the Irkutsk Region to change the regulations, which will subsequently be applied throughout the country. Optimizing the computer network between different departments of the service for the rapid transfer of any information would solve many problems.
