As the chairman of the city Public Chamber, Sergei Shishkin, said today, March 31, at a hearing of deputies in the local Duma, citing Mayor Dmitry Berdnikov, the site for the facility adjoins the boundaries of the regional center.— We spoke with Dmitry Viktorovich, and he said that a plot has been allocated for the placement of a full-fledged zoo in Irkutsk, — Sergei Shishkin said.
At present, only a zoo gallery operates in the regional center, and on January 17, 2016, a fire broke out there. On Konny Island, a new building that meets all modern requirements is planned to be built for the zoo gallery.
