In the Irkutsk region, measures are being prepared to increase the number of kindergarten places. They plan to create them by repurposing small schools, boarding schools and social institutions. Authorities also intend to support the opening of private kindergartens and train the unemployed in in demand nanny and teacher professions. If all measures are implemented, about 24 thousand additional places can be opened in the region and the queue, which now has almost 25 thousand children, can be greatly reduced.
The Government of the Irkutsk Region is preparing a series of measures to increase the number of places in kindergartens. As Education Minister Natalya Malyavkina said, most of the places will be created by repurposing small schools, boarding schools, and social institutions.Support will also be provided for the creation of private kindergartens. In addition, the government and employment centers are offering unemployed people the opportunity to learn in-demand professions such as nannies and preschool teachers. Upon completion of the courses, state-standard certificates will be issued. At present, almost 25,000 children are on the waiting list for preschool educational institutions.
- If we implement all the measures, we will be able to open about 24,000 additional places in kindergartens - this will ease the pressure in providing places.
