As reported by the head of the department of the Military Commissariat of the Irkutsk Region for the Leninsky and Sverdlovsky administrative districts, Anatoly Mikhailov, 413 young men living in these districts will be sent for military service.
As clarified by the city mayor’s press service, men born in 1998 who have turned 18, as well as those born in 1989-1997 whose deferments from military service have expired or who were not previously drafted for various reasons, are subject to conscription.
The spring draft will last until July 15, 2016. The term of military service is 12 months.
Attention to those who are planning to dodge the army by means of “fake” illnesses or evasion: administrative and even criminal liability applies to such conscripts in full.
