The spring draft has started in the Baikal region, another group of recruits has joined the Russian army, and this spring more than 3000 conscripts will go to serve. They will be sent across the country from Sakhalin to Kaliningrad, and their supplies have also changed noticeably. Now the draft center issues not only uniforms but also a full set of essentials from hygiene items to a dry ration for three meals.

Time to serve. As part of the spring draft, another batch of recruits has joined the ranks of the Russian Army.
Less than an hour to say goodbye to family and then off on the road. Just during this spring draft, more than 3,000 conscripts from the Baikal region will be sent to the Armed Forces. The Irkutsk recruits will serve across the country, including Sakhalin and Kaliningrad. And as specialists noted, every year more and more people want to join the army.
— They march like well-trained warriors. To be honest, it was very pleasant to watch. And their faces are so bright. I believe that the attitude toward service now is good, positive, — says the military commissar of the Irkutsk Region, Igor Ignashkov.
Recently, at the enlistment center, a recruit was issued not only a uniform but also a mug, spoon, and duffel bag. Everything else had to be bought on one’s own. Now conscripts are provided with everything they need:
— A toothbrush, a reusable razor, nail clippers. A folding cup with a lid, creams, a sewing kit, hygienic lipstick, wipes, a bandage, and much more. And for officers, the set was additionally supplemented with cologne and a knife. In addition to the uniform and overcoat, the combat boots were also improved; they became lighter, and the sole softer. By the way, footwraps and duffel bags are already a thing of the past:
— A lightweight bag. Duffel bags have already outlived their usefulness. Here are socks, they are without a heel, a hand belt, a waist belt, soap, a T-shirt.
And, of course, a dry ration for three meals a day:
— The lunch selection includes meatballs, stew, tea, sugar.
All of this is issued to the conscript at the enlistment center.
