On the site of the Kuibyshev plant near the Fortuna and Elektron shopping centers, they plan to build the large Fortuna City Mall shopping and entertainment center, about 150 thousand square meters. The project, presented at the Architecture of Eastern Siberia 2008 festival, provides for four floors, shopping areas on the first two levels and entertainment bars, cafes and children's rooms on the upper ones. Nearby there will also be a multilevel parking lot and an elevated crossing over Rabochaya Street, and construction is planned to begin this year.
The shopping and entertainment center will be located on the grounds of the Kuibyshev Plant near the Fortuna and Electron shopping centers. The master plan for the future building was presented today at the International Festival “Architecture of Eastern Siberia – 2008” by the chief architect of the Fortuna enterprise, Honored Architect of Russia Vladimir Stegaylo. As Vladimir Stegaylo said, the shopping and entertainment center will be built with four floors; the first and second floors are intended for retail spaces, whose main tenants will be entrepreneurs from Moscow. The third and fourth floors will house entertainment venues: bars, cafes, children’s rooms, and more. The total area of the building is about 150,000 square meters. Escalators will operate on each floor.
According to the plan, a multi-level parking lot for service vehicles and visitors’ cars will be built near the new shopping and entertainment center, “Fortuna City Mall.” An “air” passage will be built across Rabochaya Street.
According to Vladimir Stegaylo, there are currently difficulties with the construction of the shopping and entertainment center. The main problem is that the territory where construction is planned has two owners. However, the architect believes that “this issue will be resolved in the near future.”
Construction of the shopping and entertainment center is expected to begin this year.
