Experts warn that an influenza epidemic may soon begin in Russia, but far from everyone is rushing to get vaccinated, this year about 90 percent of the population did not get the vaccine. The main reason for refusal is fear of complications, which is fueled by reports of post vaccination reactions. At the same time, experts note that drug prices in the country will continue to rise, and not only imported medicines are getting more expensive, but also domestic ones that depend on foreign substances.

As specialists report, an influenza epidemic may begin in Russia in the near future. At the same time, Russians are not in a hurry to get vaccinated. This year, about 90% of the country’s population did not get vaccinated. The main reason given for refusing vaccination is fear of complications. People are concerned about an inadequate reaction of their bodies to the substances contained in the vaccine, as cases of post-vaccination complications have recently become more frequent.
Meanwhile, the head of the non-profit professional organization “Russian Association of Pharmacy Chains,” Elena Nevolina, warned that medicine prices on the Russian pharmaceutical market will continue to rise.
According to her, the price increase applies not only to imported drugs, but also to domestically produced medicines. "Most Russian drugs are produced using imported substances, and in general the industry is heavily dependent on imports," Nevolina said.
However, for many Russians this is not an argument in favor of vaccination. After all, treating post-vaccination complications also requires expensive medicines.
