The city administration website will soon publish three concept options for Irkutsk spatial development through 2040. Yesterday three developer teams presented their final proposals to the mayor's office, and Dmitry Berdnikov said they do not generally contradict each other. The authorities plan to choose the best solutions in each area and use them to prepare technical specifications for the city's new master plan.
In the near future, three versions of the concept for the spatial development of Irkutsk until 2040 will be posted on the administration’s website. The day before, three development teams presented their final works at the city hall. Mayor Dmitry Berdnikov said that, overall, the concepts presented do not contradict one another.- We have received documents that provide a comprehensive understanding of the direction of movement for the harmonious development of Irkutsk. Now our common task is to determine the most successful options for each issue and prepare the technical specifications for the new master plan, - the mayor said.
The administration clarified that groups of architects and planners from the Moscow General Plan Institute, the Urbanica Institute of Territorial Planning (St. Petersburg), as well as the Irkutsk branch of the Union of Architects of Russia, had prepared their proposals for the regional center.
