Inspections of shops in the city will continue, and such destruction of counterfeit goods may happen again.

Low-alcohol cocktails, beer, vodka, and various alcohol-containing cleaning products were sent under the bulldozer’s blade today at the city landfill in Irkutsk.
All of this product was seized in the Sverdlovsky district of the city as part of the region’s ongoing “Alcohol” and “Counterfeit” operations. During the raids, both small kiosks and fairly large stores were inspected.
“Alcoholic, alcohol-containing retail products were seized from various outlets; they showed signs of counterfeiting, were sold without a license, and had expired shelf lives,” said Andrey Kopylov, deputy head of the Department for Combating Economic Crimes of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate for the Irkutsk Region.
The operation to destroy the alcohol-containing products was carried out by employees of the regional department for combating economic crimes together with specialists from the territorial office of “Rosimushchestvo.” Investigators say inspections of retail outlets will continue throughout the city. And they do not rule out that such destruction of counterfeit alcohol is not the last.
