On Friday, about 300 people were evacuated from the Marriage Palace because of a suspicious cylindrical object wrapped in tape and colored paper. Security services arrived, but the alarm was false. Inside were wedding items, including grain for showering the newlyweds. The incident did not stop one registration from being completed, and the second couple was asked to wait a little.

At the Marriage Palace on Friday, June 17, a suspicious object was discovered. About 300 people were evacuated from the building, as well as another hundred or so who had just arrived for the registration with guests.
As the head of the Marriage Palace, Inga Trofimova, said, the object was discovered around 11:15. It was a cylinder about 20 cm high, wrapped in tape and colored paper.
“We thought the object belonged to one of the guests and announced this over the loudspeaker. When no owner came forward, we decided to call the emergency services – to avoid any incidents. People understood the situation. The evacuation took about five minutes,” Inga Trofimova explained.
At the moment the evacuation began, the registration of one couple was underway, and another bride and groom were preparing for the ceremony.
“We completed the registration, and the second couple was advised to take a little more of a walk,” the head of the Palace clarified.
Specialists inspected the building in less than 30 minutes. After determining that the found object posed no danger, they opened it: inside the box were wedding items, in particular, grain for showering the newlyweds. Most likely, it had been forgotten by the guests of the couple who had been registered in the morning and had already left the Marriage Palace.
