On July 1, an Airbus A320 of S7 Airlines made an emergency landing in Irkutsk due to a fire sensor activation in the right engine. Despite several pump failures and alarm activation, all 96 passengers were unharmed. An investigation is underway to determine if it was a real fire or a sensor error.

Evening on July 1, an Airbus A320 made an emergency landing at Irkutsk Airport. A fire sensor in the engine was triggered. Fortunately, none of the 96 passengers were harmed.
The aircraft of S7 Airlines was operating the flight "Irkutsk – Novosibirsk."
During takeoff, flames erupted from the right engine, and a so-called surge occurred. While the plane was climbing, the surge happened another 4-5 times. The emergency alarm "fire in the right engine" was activated, and the fire suppression system was triggered. The "Airbus" reached a turning altitude and, a few minutes later, landed at the departure airport on one left engine.
Currently, it is being determined whether there was indeed a fire or if the sensor was triggered by mistake.
Let us recall that an Il-76 aircraft went missing while fighting forest fires in the Irkutsk region. There were 10 people on board. The search is ongoing.
