The Interstate Aviation Committee named the main versions of the crash of the Russian EMERCOM Il 76 in the Irkutsk region, human factor, aircraft condition, and environmental influence. The flight recorders will soon be decoded in Moscow. According to a preliminary version, hot air from fires may have entered the engine, causing loss of thrust and the crash. All ten crew members died.
The Interstate Aviation Committee has named the main versions of the crash of the Russian Emergencies Ministry’s Il-76 in the Irkutsk region.“The main versions are related to the human factor, the operability of the equipment, and the influence of the environment,” said MAK representative Nikolai Yakimenko.
According to him, decryption of the onboard recorders, which were exposed to thermal effects but are in satisfactory condition, will begin in the near future.
The Interstate Aviation Committee commission carried out a full inspection of the Il-76 crash site.
Recall that the Il-76 “black boxes” have already been sent to Moscow, where they will be examined in a laboratory.
The Il-76 crew failed to make contact at 11:30 a.m. local time on July 1. The aircraft was equipped with an aerial firefighting device for extinguishing wildfires. On the night of July 3, rescuers found the wreckage of the aircraft 4 km south of the settlement of Rybny Uyan in the Kachugsky district. All ten crew members, who tried until the very end to save the plane, were killed.
According to the preliminary version, hot air from the fires may have entered the aircraft’s engine, causing the airliner to lose thrust, fail to gain altitude, catch the tops of trees, and crash.
