This year in the Baikal region they plan to buy 1360 apartments for servicemen being discharged, 1260 in Irkutsk and 100 in Angarsk. About 2 billion rubles will be allocated from the federal budget for this. Ruslan Bolotov also noted that there may not be enough nearly finished housing, since such apartments are needed not only for the military but also to resettle people from dilapidated and unsafe housing. The authorities urged builders to speed up preparation of projects for federal programs.

1360 apartments for servicemen will be purchased in the Baikal region this year. Of these, 1260 are in Irkutsk and another one hundred are in Angarsk. This was announced today to journalists by the region’s Minister of Construction and Road Management, Ruslan Bolotov.
The regional government and the leadership of the Siberian Military District intend to sign an agreement soon on resettling 1.3 thousand servicemen being discharged into the reserve in the Irkutsk Region. This was reported at a briefing on Tuesday by the Minister of Construction and Road Management of the Irkutsk Region, Ruslan Bolotov, following a meeting of the working group. About 1.2 thousand apartments will be purchased in Irkutsk, and about 100 in Angarsk. About 2 billion rubles will be allocated from the federal budget for these purposes. Under the terms of the agreement, all apartments must be purchased directly, without a mortgage; some of them will be bought through a request for quotations, and some through certificates. Housing will be provided mainly to servicemen serving in the Trans-Baikal Territory. Last year, servicemen being discharged into the reserve received about 200 apartments in the Irkutsk Region.
Ruslan Bolotov said that there may not be enough housing with a high degree of readiness — more than 70% — for resettling military personnel. At present, there are 90 construction projects of this category in the Irkutsk Region, totaling 2 thousand apartments. At the same time, such apartments are being bought not only for servicemen, but also for resettling citizens from dilapidated and emergency housing, for whom about 800 apartments need to be purchased. In this regard, Ruslan Bolotov noted that construction companies should revise their business plans and speed up the preparation of apartments for sale under federal programs.
