At the Irkutsk Sibexpo Center, as part of the Zoovetindustry exhibition, a bright and crowded cat show was held, where the author went with his daughter to admire the pets. Visitors saw dozens of breeds, from British shorthairs and Scottish folds to sphinxes and Russian blues, and could vote for their favorite. Kittens, childrens contests, and an unusual black British kitten stood out, and it got the familys vote.
This weekend, as part of the Zoovetindustry exhibition, a cat show was held at the Irkutsk Sibexpo Center. We went to the exhibition with my daughter to admire the variety of pets. By the way, we have an American exotic at home, a girl. There are photos on the forum, for those interested. So recently we have become avid cat owners. Although we decided not to take part in the exhibition with our cat.
The parking lot at the Sibexpo Center was completely packed with cars; we did not even expect such popularity for this event. Tickets were sold at the entrance. Admission for an adult cost 100 rubles, for a child 50. The entrance ticket also served as a voting coupon. Each animal participating in the exhibition has its own unique number. And anyone can cast a vote for the one they like. And so we are inside. How many of them there are! In the spacious hall, houses and cages are set out on tables, where kittens frolic, or adult cats and tomcats lazily watch what is happening. My daughter pulled me from one table to another. Of course, the main attention is drawn by the frolicking kittens. As it seemed to us, the largest number of animals at the exhibition were British Shorthairs. There are so many of them! And deservedly so! They are such beauties. Their short, smooth fur literally shines under the children’s gazes.
There are also many sphinxes, which have become popular recently. With not a single hair on their bodies, they frighten the ordinary person with their appearance. Perhaps there are fans of such exoticism, but neither I nor my daughter count ourselves among them.
Scottish Fold cats look very interesting. Big heads and tiny ears attract attention. Probably their ears are so small to make them easier to pet.
Unlike the Scots, Russian Blues have ears like our Winnie the Pooh’s — huge. But they do not seem all that funny.
For more than an hour we walked from one table to another and admired the most diverse breeds and colors. Many cats were memorable thanks to their original coloring.
At the end of the exhibition, my daughter and I unanimously decided to give our vote to a British Shorthair kitten of an unusual color for this breed — black.
The exhibition turned out to be interesting and varied. In the hall where the exhibition itself was held, the organizers arranged contests for children. Little cat lovers could recite poems about them, sing a song, and have fun just like the kittens taking part in the exhibition.
Overall, we liked it, and at the same time we gained experience so that we can take part in the next exhibition ourselves, with our beauty.
