In Irkutsk region in 2009, oil production is forecast to rise sharply, to 1 million 415.5 thousand tons, more than three times last year. The main contribution will come from the Verkhnechonskoye field, with expected output of 901 thousand tons, and the Yarakta and Dulisma fields will also show notable growth. The material also gives data on reserves of the region's largest oil and gas fields and production trends in previous years.

The volume of oil production in the Irkutsk Region in 2009, according to the forecast, may amount to 1 million 415 thousand 500 tons. This is more than three times the 2008 figure, when 451 thousand tons were produced.
These data were presented at the meeting “On the Development of the Oil and Gas Complex in the Northern Areas of the Angara Region,” which Irkutsk Region Governor Igor Esipovsky held during a working trip to the Katangsky District.
The main share of oil production this year will come from the Verkhnechonskoye oil and gas condensate field. It is forecast that 901 thousand tons of oil will be produced at Verkhnyaya Chona, which will exceed the 2008 level by 744 thousand 700 tons. At the Yaraktinskoye oil and gas condensate field, production will rise to 400 thousand tons from 222 thousand 900 tons, and at the Dulisminskoye field to 89 thousand 500 tons instead of 49 thousand 800 tons. It is assumed that 20 thousand tons of oil will be produced at the Danilovskoye oil and gas condensate field (last year – 15 thousand 900 tons). At the Markovskoye oil and gas condensate field, by contrast, oil production is forecast to decrease by 1.1 thousand tons, to 5 thousand tons.
In 2008, oil production volumes in the Irkutsk Region more than doubled compared with 2007 – 451 thousand tons instead of 218 thousand 58 tons. Growth in the year before last was less significant compared with 2006: only 61 thousand 68 tons more were produced, reports “Energiya Priangarya” – Telesinform.
Recall that the total recoverable reserves of the Verkhnechonskoye field in the C1+C2 category are estimated at 201 million 600 thousand tons of oil, 95 billion 500 million cubic meters of natural gas, and 3 million 360 thousand tons of gas condensate; those of the Dulisminskoye field at 14 million 927 thousand tons, 77 billion 264 million, and 8 million 482 thousand tons, respectively. The reserves of the Yaraktinskoye field amount to 10 million 899 thousand tons of oil (C1), 39 billion 998 million cubic m (C1+C2) of gas, and 2 million 512 (C1+C2) thousand tons of condensate; those of the Danilovskoye field to 4 million 668 thousand tons of oil (C1+C2) and 3 billion 77 million cubic m of gas (C2); and those of the Markovskoye field to 1 million 860 thousand tons of oil (C1+C2), 17 billion 195 million cubic m of gas (C1+C2), and 2 million 512 thousand tons of condensate (C1+C2).
