In Irkutsk, a Youth Bank has been created to support charitable, social, cultural, and educational initiatives of young activists and organizations. Projects will be able to take part in grant competitions in areas from ecology and sports to education and civic engagement. There is already a first example of support. ARKADA SIB LLC transferred 30,000 rubles to the IMB account.
The Irkutsk Youth Bank was established in 2009 as a project by innovators from the city of Tolyatti with financial support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) for the purpose of developing and supporting charitable, social, cultural, educational, and other socially useful initiatives of citizens and organizations aimed at solving local problems. Reviving the traditions of patronage and charity in Irkutsk and fostering a positive attitude among young people toward the life of their native city. Coordinated by the International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX)“We will be able to achieve the set goals,” says IMB President Alexander Otkidach, “through the organization and conduct of grant competitions. Projects can be submitted in several areas: ecology, development of physical culture and sports, charity, educational activities, fostering civic engagement, raising the cultural level of the population, organizing leisure activities and cultural services for the population, taking into account the cultural interests and needs of the city’s residents.
With the help of the Youth Bank, dozens of young, active, goal-oriented people will be able to bring their ideas to life. Our region is known for its active youth, but often good ideas do not go beyond the paper project, and all because it is now difficult to find worthy funding. Our Bank is intended to change the situation that has developed in society.
Project funding is planned to be provided through sponsorship from enterprises in Irkutsk and the Irkutsk Region. As is known, a crisis brings great benefits to those who are socially responsible. And today a worthy example has already been shown! LLC “ARKADA – SIB” transferred 30,000 rubles to the IMB account! Investing in the local community is when everyone wins! Benefactors achieve their goal, social projects benefit, and the local community becomes stronger. Let’s make Irkutsk better!
