At the Irkutsk administration, a round table Irkutsk 350, toward the anniversary, was held, where youth, activists, and city program participants discussed what the celebration should be like and what everyone can do for its success. Suggestions included Irkutsk Days in sister cities, an international relations festival, development of the volunteer movement To the Anniversary, 350 good deeds for the city, as well as auto quests, photo crosses, carnivals, and educational banners about the citys history.

At the administration of Irkutsk, a round table discussion titled “Irkutsk 350: Toward the Jubilee” was held. It was attended by Irkutsk residents working in the field of youth policy, members of youth organizations, and activists from various youth programs and projects.
The organizers proposed an interactive format for discussing the preparation for and celebration of the jubilee. First in small groups, and then in a general discussion, the participants answered the following questions: What does young people see our city as in 2009, on the eve of the jubilee? What place does the capital of the Angara region occupy in the value system of Irkutsk residents? What can I personally do to help ensure that Irkutsk’s jubilee is held at a high level?
During the discussion, original ideas emerged for preparing for and celebrating the city’s jubilee: holding Irkutsk Days in sister cities and a Festival of Sister-City International Relations during the jubilee celebrations in Irkutsk, and developing volunteer activity in the city (“For the Jubilee, 350 Good Deeds for the City!”). In addition, it is planned to hold auto quests, photo cross events, carnivals, and demonstrations of the sporting, technical, and creative achievements of young Irkutsk residents.
It was also proposed to place a series of educational banners about the history of Irkutsk, “Did You Know That?”
The organizers are confident that, during the discussion of jubilee events in the city community, new vivid ideas for celebrating the jubilee of Irkutsk will emerge.
