The Postscript youth organization again held an eco gathering on the Ushakovka riverbank. Cleanup was set to music with residents and even the mayor. They cleared trash and found surprises, from moss covered sneakers to rusty Zhigulis on two wheels.

The Postscriptum youth organization is a friend of our site. We love them because creative and caring people have gathered here. Of course, they are very young, and they know Soviet traditions only by hearsay. But the best of them try to preserve them and bring something new to them.
That is why last year they remembered that in spring, everyone used to go out together for community clean-up days. Why not socialize and have fun in the fresh air, while at the same time making our beloved city cleaner?
So, with the support of the city administration, an eco-gathering was conceived. Of course, last year the event turned out more interesting and larger in scale, but this year too, everyone who wanted to let loose did so.
The cleanup site was chosen to be the bank of the Ushakovka. The Saturday morning pleased everyone with April warmth, and to make the work more cheerful, music was playing. Many different people came to help clean up, and even the mayor was present. Garbage bags and gloves were handed out, and the work began in earnest. And there was indeed plenty to clean up.
Of course, plastic bottles confidently won the hit parade of collected trash - the bank was simply strewn with them - but there were more interesting finds too. One of the most creative was a pair of moss-covered sneakers, and the largest was a rusty Zhiguli on two wheels. Both young people and those vested with authority cheerfully stuffed bags with all sorts of odds and ends. and at the same time had fun and chatted. Then the trash was loaded into the arriving vehicles, and we, tired but pleased with ourselves, gathered near the Ushakovsky Bridge. A field kitchen had driven up here. Never had buckwheat porridge seemed so delicious!
That was how the morning of last Saturday turned out - sunshine, fresh air, and the unexpectedly clean bank of one of Irkutsk's many waterfront areas. Who will make the city we live in cozier if not us? So next time, join us!
