In Irkutsk, the Active Youth Center project was presented, launched in the region for the first time as part of the Year of Youth. The center will provide free help on legal and other issues and support young people in difficult life situations.

The presentation of the “Active Youth Center” project took place today at the Humanitarian Center-Library named after the Polev family. More than 100 young people took part in the project presentation — students of higher and secondary specialized educational institutions, volunteers from public organizations, and representatives of councils of young professionals.

The Center’s specialists will provide advisory assistance to the public on legal and other issues, including young people who find themselves in difficult life situations. Anyone can contact the Center daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at: Humanitarian Center-Library named after the Polev family, Universitetsky microdistrict, 70, tel: 369566.
— At present, on a competitive basis, we are actively working to create similar centers in major districts of Irkutsk and municipal areas of the region. Based on the results of the competition, Active Youth Centers will open in 10 more municipalities this year, Igor Ivanov emphasized.
The center’s work will involve a community outreach specialist, a volunteer and trainer outreach specialist — a social programs specialist, a legal adviser, and freelance staff (volunteers, trainers, lawyers, psychologists, request administrators, IT specialists).
