On May 1 in Irkutsk and other cities of the Angara region, rallies and marches organized by the regional trade union association will take place. In Irkutsk, participants will gather at the Trud Sports Palace, from where they will proceed to the Eternal Flame memorial. Former BPPM workers will draw special attention at the events. They plan to again raise the issues of wage arrears and job creation in Baikalsk.

May 1 is the holiday of Peace and Labor, as well as a day of struggle for workers’ rights. In today’s unstable social situation, this date is very important.
The regional association of trade unions is organizing rallies and marches in almost all cities of the Angara region, including the regional center.
In Irkutsk, the festive rally will take place on May 1 at 11:00 a.m. near the Trud Sports Palace, after which the participants will march to the Eternal Flame memorial.
Among others, the rally will be attended by a delegation of former employees of the BCBK. For them, this is another opportunity to voice their problems loudly, which are, of course, widely known, but still unresolved. It is expected that at the May Day rally, the plant workers will present their demands and proposals for solving the problems of wage arrears and creating jobs in Baikalsk. The efforts currently being made by the regional employment service, unfortunately, are not radically changing the situation on the labor market in Baikalsk.
