After the house explosion in Irkutsk on May 3, experts focused on auto gas filling stations. They may have filled homemade cylinders there, which are potentially dangerous. Irkutskoblgaz says all cylinders from the burned building were found, and their condition does not point to the cause of the tragedy. The inspection of LPG stations should finish by June 1.
OJSC "Irkutskoblgaz" and the Irkutsk Interregional Administration for Technological and Environmental Supervision of Rostekhnadzor drew attention to gas filling stations after the explosion of a house in Irkutsk on May 3.As a reminder, the main version of the cause of the tragedy remains a domestic gas explosion. Meanwhile, the acting general director of OJSC "Irkutskoblgaz," Ivan Prudky, stated that all the cylinders that, according to the gas service documents, were supposed to be in the burned building have been found, and their condition clearly indicates that they were not the cause of the explosion and fire. Specialists believe that a "makeshift" cylinder may have exploded. It is exactly such cylinders that are filled at gas filling stations.
- At a gas filling station, you can fill a cylinder with gas for any amount - even for 50 rubles, even for 10, whereas a standard, fully filled "Irkutskoblgaz" cylinder costs 500 rubles. Residents of Irkutsk take advantage of this, - Ivan Prudky explains. - We cannot ban this, but we can check compliance with the technology.
The inspection is due to be completed by June 1.
