New international and domestic flights may appear from Irkutsk, talks are underway on flights to Hanoi and Bangkok, as well as a route to St. Petersburg. If agreements are reached, Bangkok will become more accessible thanks to another airline, and Kavminvodyavia will keep flights to Krasnodar and Rostov on Don.
Air service is planned to be established between Irkutsk and Hanoi. Negotiations on operating flights between the cities are currently underway with one of the Vietnamese airlines. This is reported by the public relations department of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Irkutsk Airport”.It is also planned to organize another flight from Irkutsk to Bangkok. Negotiations on this are being held with Thai Airways International (“Thai Airways”). If they are successful, the Thai carrier will become the second airline whose aircraft regularly fly from Irkutsk to Bangkok.
In addition, a new flight to St. Petersburg may appear. The Far Eastern Airline plans to begin flights on the route Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk – Khabarovsk – Irkutsk – Omsk – St. Petersburg. It is also expected that in the second half of the year the airline Kavminvodyavia will maintain flights from Irkutsk to Krasnodar and Rostov-on-Don.
