Vladivostok International Airport will stop serving S7 Airlines flights from May 21 for an indefinite period because of a debt for ground handling that has exceeded 1.2 million rubles. The airport says the decision is due not only to the debt, but also to the airline's refusal to meet the partnership agreement terms. Service will resume only after the debt is fully repaid.
The management of Vladivostok International Airport has decided to stop servicing Siberia Airlines (S7 Airlines) flights starting Thursday because of a million-ruble debt for ground handling services. This was reported by the enterprise’s press secretary, Tatyana Ponomarenko.“The debt of the Siberian airline, as well as its refusal to comply with the terms of the partnership agreement, forced the management of Vladivostok Airport to decide to restrict servicing of S7 flights from the Primorye capital starting May 21 for an indefinite period,” the press secretary said.
According to her, the airline’s debts to the airport began to appear immediately after the partnership agreement started to be implemented. At the same time, the cost of servicing each flight amounts to more than 300,000 rubles. “As of yesterday, Siberia’s debt amounted to 903,000 rubles. Today it has grown to 1.272 million rubles, since two flights of this company were operated over the course of the day,” Ponomarenko clarified.
The airport will resume servicing the airline’s flights only when the debt has been paid in full.
