A brazen robbery occurred in central Irkutsk. While a man was taking out a bank loan, 1.5 million rubles were stolen from the trunk of his Mercedes. The bank said the crime may have been planned in advance and the victim likely was watched. The theft was not solved immediately.

Yesterday, in the very center of Irkutsk, a brazen robbery took place: while an Irkutsk resident was in a bank building arranging a loan, 1.5 million rubles were stolen from his car.
The man had only popped into the bank for a few minutes, and the case containing a substantial amount of money remained in the trunk of his Mercedes. When the car was broken into, the alarm did not go off.
-This man wanted to take out a loan from us to buy a second car, - says one of the bank representatives. - I believe the robbery was planned in advance. After all, on that very same day he had just received the stolen amount back from another bank. Before taking the money, he must have called the bank and asked whether it could be withdrawn. Apparently, the man was being watched.
The crime could not be solved on the spot.
