The criminal case materials against former head of the Osinsky district administration Pyotr Magdanov have been sent to the Irkutsk regional court. He is accused of taking a bribe, according to investigators, he offered an entrepreneur to pay for the repair of a relative's car in exchange for processing documents for the lease of a land plot. Interestingly, while under investigation, Magdanov still took part in the district head election, but on March 1 he received less than 2 percent of the vote.
Materials in the criminal case against the former head of the Osinsky District administration, Pyotr Magdanov, were transferred this week to the Irkutsk Regional Court.He is charged under Article 290 of the Criminal Code, "Receiving a bribe".
The investigation established that in May of last year, the official offered an entrepreneur to pay for the repair of his relative's car in exchange for preparing documents for the transfer of a land plot into lease. The criminal case was initiated by the Investigative Directorate under the Prosecutor's Office of Russia for the Irkutsk Region. Despite the fact that Pyotr Magdanov was under investigation, he took part in the elections for the post of district head. As a result, on March 1 he received less than 2% of the voters' votes.
