In Irkutsk, a shocking crime is being investigated, a 24 year old local woman is accused of killing her friend after a drinking party. According to investigators, the quarrel ended with axe blows, dismemberment, and, they say, eating part of the remains.

A terrible tragedy in Irkutsk. A 24-year-old resident of the Rabocheye suburb killed her friend and then dismembered the body. She has already been charged. And not only under the article "murder." The Irkutsk woman is suspected of cannibalism.
On one of the March evenings, 3 young women gathered in this house on Osvobozhdeniya Street. They drank heavily. And the get-together ended in tragedy.
Or rather, murder and cannibalism. In the bad apartment, according to neighbor Tatyana Perevoznikova, Olesya lived with her seven-year-old son. The 24-year-old woman did not work anywhere and moved to the suburb a year ago. Literally a week after moving into Osvobozhdeniya Street, Olesya's husband hanged himself. On March 5 of this year, she was receiving guests. Accustomed to constant drinking parties, the neighbors did not notice any particular noise:
- Yes, of course, she drank. Naturally, she drank. Nothing could be heard. We heard nothing, but I know that a murder took place.
As Investigative Committee employees now say, the quarrel between the drinking companions occurred "on the basis of personal animosity." An axe ended up in Olesya's hands.
- The accused inflicted multiple blows with an axe to the head and body of the victim. And after causing death, she dismembered the body and even consumed some fragments of the body as food, - says Oleg Lobach, acting head of the investigative department for the Kuibyshevsky District of Irkutsk of the Investigative Committee under the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation for the Irkutsk Region.
Olesya fried part of the mutilated body, and put part of it into bags and took it out to the garden. She left other fragments near a garbage container not far from the house. That is where passersby found them. The woman is now in the Irkutsk pretrial detention center and is giving a confession. Her friend, who took part in the drinking session on March 5, is a witness in the case. Olesya has been charged under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code, "Murder." The maximum penalty under it is 15 years in prison.
