The official website of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation was hacked on Sunday, unknown people posted radical Islamic slogans and videos on it. Alexander Brod noted that such attacks on human rights and public websites in Russia happen often, and are usually carried out by radical nationalist organizations. The report also says such attacks often remain uninvestigated, and this one has so far been no exception.

On Sunday, the official website of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation was subjected to a hacker attack.
Unknown individuals, having hacked the site, posted radical Islamic slogans and videos there.
Civic Chamber member and director of the Moscow Bureau for Human Rights Alexander Brod commented on the situation to journalists as follows: "In Russia, websites of human rights and public organizations are very often subjected to hacker attacks. As a rule, such attacks are carried out by radical nationalist organizations."
Previously, websites of the Moscow Helsinki Group, the human rights center "Sova," websites of a number of political parties, as well as Jewish organizations had been subjected to hacker attacks.
As a rule, hacker attacks on the websites of human rights organizations are not investigated by law enforcement agencies.
Yesterday's hacker attack is also still not being investigated by anyone. "So far our law enforcement agencies have demonstrated complete inability to find those behind the hacker attacks. A criminal case needs to be opened, a thorough investigation needs to be conducted - law enforcement agencies must show that they are not eating bread for nothing," said A. Brod.
