Dozens of residents of the region became victims of the frosts

Frosts in the Irkutsk region have begun to ease, but their consequences are already severe, dozens of residents suffered frostbite and hypothermia. In Cheremkhovo, 15 people were hospitalized in a day with frostbite, most after being outside drunk. Among the most tragic cases are a womans death in Bratsk and the serious condition of a pensioner found on a balcony by neighbors.

The frosts in the Irkutsk Region have begun to ease. Already today, meteorologists are promising -17, -19 degrees during the day. Dozens of residents of the Angara region have fallen victim to the cold.
It is known that a woman froze to death in Bratsk; her identity has still not been established. And in the central district hospital of Cheremkhovo, 15 people were admitted over the course of a day with a diagnosis of "frostbite." As the head of the trauma department, Stepan Stepanenko, said, 13 patients were affected because they ended up outside while intoxicated. Among the victims of winter is also a fisherman who fell through an ice hole, got his feet wet, and froze them while making his way home. A tragic incident happened to a pensioner. The elderly woman, lightly dressed, went out onto the balcony for a few minutes, slipped, fell, and could not get up on her own. After some time, neighbors found her. They called an ambulance, and doctors took the old woman to the hospital:
- In an extremely grave condition. Fourth-degree frostbite of the limbs, general hypothermia, shock, comatose state, blood pressure cannot be determined. Thermal insulation dressings were applied to the patient, and she was urgently sent to intensive care.
